Head in the Clouds is a series that features a "scribble" collage of different African fabrics, with "heads." This is a collaboration series with my friend/barber, Matt GiftedHands, and features headshots of his work and clients.
I had been drawn to creating with fabrics since I first used a blue silk too adorn my Yemaya painting. As a child, I had created many of the "scribble" collages with pencil, ink and paint. I wanted to expand on my experimentation by using fabrics. The result was a brilliant kente cloud.
